Social Network: A Boon or Curse

Hello Guys,

After a long time i am writing and this time i have selected a tough topic...i.e. Social Network.

In today’s E-World people are going with the flow of Internet Ways of Communication where in past you use to text or call people to know about their where about where as today you just need to connect to your people using Social Network such as Facebook, Google + and from Professional aspect you can use LinkedIn.

As we all know that today Generation is known as Facebook Generation where children from the age of 13 to Old Folks about the age of 113 are on facebook.

In this article i would bring up the aspect of how you have to use Facebook and LinkedIn to create a Public Profile so that can help you to connect people to whom you resemble and that can help you professionally as well as personally and even help you to prosper and share knowledge.

Let’s Start with Social Network GIANT FACEBOOK

Introduction: - Facebook is a Social Network web application that allows you to connect, share and create apps for personal and business use and with its chat utility it has the power of instant messaging as well, but there is lot that we are missing on this giant venture.

80 % of educated population is on Facebook as per an Independent survey and you might one amongst them but have you thought that how can Facebook be productive for your personal and public profile instead of just uploading, sharing Photos updating status, Posting to the wall etc. There is lot to learn about this SN Giant where you can have public Identity that will help you to connect to the people of your belonging and avoid spam and unneeded connections.

To create a Public Identity on Facebook where even people who are not in your friendlist would like to subscribe to your News Feed i.e. they will be updated on what you post.Lets start with DO’s and Don’ts.

There are people who keep everything public or private it is very Important to maintain a balance between both so that you can maintain personal and professional connections without hassle.

DO’s and Don’ts on Facebook that will help to stop needless connection on Facebook.

·         Profile Picture: - Always keep your own profile picture and keep the Profile album Visibility to “only me”. This will only show the active profile picture and not the entire album, this will help people to know you and connect to you, fake profile picture will be soon banned from facebook to cut down fake accounts.

·       Your Personal Info : -

1.      Work and Education: - Should be visible to Friends or Friends of Friends and not public. This will help you to build connection to people of your likeliness in terms of work profile.
2.      Living in: - This should be visible to only you so that you can keep your Home safe.
3.      Relationship: - This should be only visible to you and your partner.Never reveal on facebook to whom you are in relationship with untill you get committed i.e. Married.
4.      Family List: - This should be only visible to you and your family members.
5.      History by Year: - This should be only visible to you because it resembles you personally and even if you want to display this  just keep to selected personalities.
6.      About You:- This should be always public and it should contain what you do and what you want to do and how you connect so that this can help your friends to know about you much better and can help you in your professional aspect.Over here you will ask me a Question why I should maintain this in my about you section because people now-a-days scrutinze resumes with your facebook profiles.
7.      Basic Info :- Contains your Birthday,Sex,Intrested in, Relationship Status and Languages you know, this part completely depends upon if you are comfortable people wishing on your Facebook timeline keep the visibility to your friends and not public.
8.      Contact Info: - This area on your profile is very sensitive and should be taken care of its privacy level, I would suggest keep the visibility to only you.
9.      Favorite Quotations: - You should always write down your emotions when you need this is the place where you can do that, a nice one liner will tell what attitude you have.

This was just about the profile and if you maintain these visiblity modes you will definitely cut down needless connection. There is one way to restrict people to search you by your name is to keep your profile search option to only friends of friends so that apart from mutual friends no one can search you except if they have your email address.

Posting on Facebook

Wall of Facebook is the best thing that ever happened to facebook and that’s correct, if you want that people should know you, keep posting updates on facebook that resembles any current affairs, some good thoughts invented by you just don’t copy and paste from web this will help you to interact and improve your com skills as well.

Uploading Pics on Facebook

You should always keep your Photo Albums visibility as per the album requirements for e.g.: if you want to share your Birthday Moments you can keep the album visibility to that people who were present on that moment and so that they can re-call the days and if the album is related to your hidden talents keep it public and check how many people you can win over so that this can increase your profile’s eligiblity. The same goes with videos.

Creating Apps on Facebook :-

If you have programming skills you can create an App connect it to Facebook for free and create a Fan Page for it and get Likes and eventually give you business this is way you can also make money from facebook. One thing facebook will not pay you to create apps on facebook this is for your own business.

Writing Notes on Facebook

This is the best place to make your public identity for professional relationships, if you think you can write an article on something go ahead and stroke the keys down and see how many people like and comment on it, even one of your non friend likes or comments on it, you have done it and then make a habit of it. One more thing restrict your friend list and unfriend those who hardly talk to you when you and him/her are online
One more thing do not reveal where are you heading to like, do not update status if you are travelling to outside your area, you can update once you have come back, this is the biggest mistake people make and then face severe consequences.

This was just a small note on how you should use Social network for personal and professional use. People will question why I chose FACEBOOK to write on, because it is famous or most used, that’s not the case the real reason behind this even Companies have started scrutinizing facebook profiles after you have given interviews and check how is this guy in maintaining relationship, if he cannot handle e-network so how he can handle work pressure.

Last but not the least that is very crucial avoid adding people from work environment because you come to facebook to enjoy and to talk work, so it is better not to connect to people from work environment so that you can peacefully be away from office work.

Conclusion: - I hope you will give it a shot and observe the changes there is lot to write about FACEBOOK and it will never end………so stay tuned…..I Leave it on you to decide is it a boon or Curse…….

Life : Its time to Live

Hello Friends,

One of my Contact members in Wats app shared this this is something that we need to think its high time..........

Heart cries, so do my eyes.
It really hurts when you miss your life.
Life was wonderful then.....
NO LOVE......only friends in den.
Things were so straight and so fine......
No commitments were in line.
We enjoyed our company and friendship began....
we teased each other with others in clan.
Projects, Studies, Parties were in talks.....
"Boss, whose love story is on the rocks?"
Beautiful was the time.....Enjoyed a lot......
Then came an end to tear us apart.
Final exams were over.....Time was to say good-bye....
Wished that time had never passed-by.
Some showed courage to propose their dream gals....
Some were still shy to take a step forward.
Some love stories came to an end.....
While some started afresh to continue till the end.
Pictures were taken for memories forever......
Friends made promises to stay in touch and loose never.
Evening it was...all were to depart.....
nearby one's said 'Let's party hard'.
I was standing aloof of them all.....
Thinking.... Is it the end or a new start for all?
Time passed by.... all were scattered....
Only closed one's in contact.....Other's din't matter.
MBA or Job was on their mind.....
Weekend Masti was still on time.
Years have passed and all have been settled......
Now we talk but on Face book and Twitter.....
Job/Business is eating most of our time.....
rest of it is family time.
Every time we decide and fix up a date....
which gets postponed....and we have to wait.
Then will come a time another.....
We'll have partners and kids all together.....
Meeting then will be a tougher task.....
A minute the call will also not last.....
My life was fun....I had tensions none....
Friends were on cards.... That was done

Bye Bye Small Attachments : Welcome Google Drive and Large Attachments.

Hello Friends,

This is what i was waiting for from google there were rumors about Google is in the hunt to take the attachment size 400 times more than the current that is 25MB and surely they have done that.

Now with Gmail you can send attachments larger than 25 MB and upto 10 GB.

Goshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hows that possible........

Yes it is...............Its Cloud baby..........i.e. Google Drive

Lets get started to see the Google magic.

Pre-Requisites..

You have to upgrade the Google compose feature to new one that they have just recently launched out.If you Dont know how to upgrade to the new compose view of E-Mail i will paste the Link below for the tutorial.

Once you have the new compose feature just go to the bottom strip of the new compose window and hover your mouse on the "+" sign you will see a symbol which is some what like a triangle, that is the Google drive.

Now to send more than 25 MB of files you just have to click on the same symbol. If you keep the mouse hovered on it for 2 seconds it will give you a tool tip that says insert using drive.

Step 1 :- Choose Google Drive option to send large files more than 25 MB

Once you click on it it will open a Big Dialog BOX and on the left hand side it has all the options from where you want the attachments to be uploaded,in short where are the files stored currently.

Here are the list of Options that are available:-

  • Upload :- It allows to upload the files from your Personal Computer, I phone, I Pad,Smartphone or any Electronic device attached to the computer or itself.
  • My Drive :- This option will allow you the attach files if you had already uploaded any in the Google Drive.
  • Shared with me :- This will allow you to attach files if the files are shared by anyone with you using Google Connect that is your Gmail Friends or G+ Circles.
  • Starred :- This will filter all the favorite Documents that you have marked in your Email. This means if any starred E-Mail has any Attachments.
  • Recently Selected : - This will show all the recent files you have uploaded to Google Drive.
  • All Items :- Over here you will get all the files you have uploaded till date on the Google Drive.

Step 2 :- Select files from computer or use options from left panel.

Now lets start the magic..........

Imagine if you want to send a 900 MB of video to your friend and it is not on the Google Drive and it is on the computer. How will you do it?
Ans :- After this feature it is possible, just go to Compose and then go to the bottom strip,Hover the mouse on the  "+" Sign and select Insert using Drive.
Now click on Upload from left panel and then You can drag or Drop the Files from your Computer or Click on the Button.Select Files from your Computer.
Now browse the files and select the files you want.Once you are done selecting click Upload. It will take time to attach files depending on the size and bandwidth of your Internet Speed.Once it done you can press send and that's it

As soon as you press send you get an Pop up Stating that These files would be shared and send to the recipients and if the files sharing visibility is off then it will ask you to share and send and if you dont want to share then click send without sharing,so click on it.

To activate the new compose feature visit the following link :- Activate New Compose Feature

Do not worry about the privacy of the file,it will be only visible to the people you have shared with.........

Hello Appleiacs,

The Cupertino Giant has hit back the world of Mobile technology,Apple has finally launched the next Generation IPhone i.e. I-Phone 5 on 13 September i.e. yesterday, with the first look i got a mixed feeling of What the Shit and WOW !!!.
The Shit Feeling is for the Camera and the WOW for Design and Features

Lets have a Glimpse of I-Phone 5

Now is this mixed Feeling i would say that the design is Thinner,Larger display,A6 Chip an 8 MP ISight Camera and it is light with comparison to its previous generation.

Here are some Major Changes that the Late.Steve Job's Giant Company made to the most amazing phone.

  • 18 % Thinner
  • Light in weight by 20%
  • 4 Inch Display
  • Larger Display - 4 Inch compared to previous version of 3.5 Inch
  • 1.2 MP Front Camera with 720 Pixel HD Recording
  • IOS 6.0
  • The charging Connector is not a 30 pin dock connector its redesigned
  • Apple Ear Pod redesigned to fit into your Ears.
  • Available in 4 Colors :- Black,White,Slate,Silver (Now that's Amazing)

Built in Apps

 I Phone 5

 IMPORTANT Tech Specs

  • Storage Capacity :- 16 GB , 32 GB, 64 GB
  • Price:- $199 for 16 GB, 32 GB $299,64 GB $399 (2 Years Contract with AT&T or Verizon or Sprint),No info on factory unlocked i.e. contract free Devices.

  • TV and Video :- Now you can directly connect to Apple TV using AirPlay Mirroring with 720 P Streaming.
  • Available in 4 Colors :- Black,White,Slate,Silver (Now that's Amazing)

Note:- Rest of the Tech Specs are more or less the same.

MY Review......
My personal take is that Apple has given one more chance to Samsung to capture the Market,It was assumed that Apple would raise the Standard of the Camera to 12 MP from 8 MP and Front Camera to at least 2 MP to give a run for the money to Samsung.

The A6 Chip would be the best thing to happen to I Phone 5 as they say it does not eats up the battery.
Connection to Internet over LTE and 3G is also improved without impacting the Battery and gives 150 MBPS Download on Wireless Technology conditions applied.

One more good thing Apple has taken efforts to design Maps by themselves hope this works well and has also provided more Color option for I-Phone body.

Hope I Phone 6 has more good Camera, as Nokia N8-00 has 12 MP.

Lastly i would say Apple will Gain back Customer's as there is no Monster launch from rival Samsung in this next 2 months....
Good Luck Apple

Apple IPhone 4S V/S Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hello Friend's

Finally samsung has launced Samsung Galaxy S III and with I Phone 4 S already in the market
mobile freaks are asking what to go for Iphone 4 S or Samsung Galaxy SIII,Lets see what both offer's.

I Phone 4 S v/s Samsung Galaxy S III

Lets Start the comparison

Processor

Samsung Galaxy SIII provides Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 where as Apple Provides IPhone 4S has A5 Dual Core Chip but i still believe there is not much difference here.
I would say rather I phone has better Processor.

Body

Samsung Galaxy SIII

  • Dimension :- 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm
  • Weight     :- 133 g
  • Touch Sensitive Controls

Apple I Phone 4S

  • Dimension :- 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3 mm
  • Weight :- 140 g
  • I OS Touch

Display

Samsung Galaxy SIII

  • Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
  • 720 x 1280 pixels, 4.8 inches (~306 ppi pixel density)
  • Multi Touch
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 2
  • Touch-wiz UI v4.0

Apple I Phone 4S

  • Retina display
  • 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen Multi-Touch display
  • 960-by-640-pixel resolution at 326 ppi
  • 800:1 contrast ratio (typical)
  • 500 cd/m2 max brightness (typical)
  • Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating on front and back
  • Support for display of multiple languages and characters simultaneously.

Well regarding the Display I Phone 4S gives the best display with retina technology even Samsung used Super Amoled Screen......View wise Apple takes it all out regarding the strongness of the glass its tough because Samsung has used Gorilla Glass where Apple has  used the Glass which are used in Helicopters and Trains so it is very tough to say which is stronger.

To watch drop test visit :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7e9ebi41Wc

Audio Support

Samsung Galaxy SIII

  • Vibration; MP3, WAV ringtone
  • Loudspeaker available
  • 3.5 mm Jack Head Phone Connection

Apple I Phone 4S

  • Frequency response: 20Hz to 20,000Hz
  • Audio formats supported: AAC (8 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Store), HE-AAC, MP3 (8 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3, 4, Audible Enhanced Audio, AAX, and AAX+), Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV.
  • User-configurable maximum Volume Limit

Over here Apple beats Samsung giving more support to Audio Formats.

Storage Capacity

Samsung Galaxy SIII

  • Internal 16GB /32 GB/64 GB
  • External Support Micro SD upto 64GB

Apple I Phone 4S

  • It has no support for Micro SD Support it has inbuilt memory comes in 3 Memory i.e.16GB /32 GB/64 GB

Over here both have won the Customer's so no distinguishing in this spec's

Cellular and Wireless

Samsung Galaxy SIII

  • World phone
  • GPRS :- Class 12  (4+1/3+2/2+3/1+4 slots), 32 - 48 kbps and EDGE :- Class 12
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot
  • Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology
  • Yes, microUSB v2.0 (MHL), USB On-the-go

Apple I Phone 4S

  • World phone
  • UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz);
  • GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
  • CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz)4
  • 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi (802.11n 2.4GHz only)
  • Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology

Over here there is not much difference but 1 significant difference is that Apple I Phone 4S does not has Micro USB 2.0 where you can connect Pen Drive directly to Samsung Galaxy SIII.So according to me Samsung Galaxy SIII wins the battle.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy SIII

  • 8 MP Main Camera, 3264x2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash.
  • 1.8 MP Rear Camera and Video Recording 720 pixels @ 30 frame/second.
  • Simultaneous HD video and image recording, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile.
  • detection, image stabilization.

Apple I Phone 4S

  • 8-megapixel iSight camera
  • Autofocus
  • Tap to focus
  • Face detection in still images
  • LED flash
  • Video recording, HD (1080p) up to 30 frames per second with audio
  • Video stabilization
  • Front camera with VGA-quality photos and video at up to 30 frames per second
  • Photo and video geotagging.

Over here I would say Samsung Galaxy SIII beats apple because of the Better front camera and better video recording from the front camera that will give more better Video Calling experience

Retina Display

The Retina display is the highest-resolution phone screen ever. In fact, the pixel density is so high that the human eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels. But without a doubt, you’ll notice crisp text, sharp graphics, and stunning images. It’s more remarkable than the printed page. And you’ll be completely absorbed.

FaceTime lets you hear a voice and see the face that goes with it — iPhone to iPhone, iPad 2, iPod touch, or Mac over Wi-Fi. So no matter where they are, no matter where you are, you’ll always be there. Making a FaceTime call is just as easy as making a phone call. And it’s even easier with Siri. Just tell Siri “FaceTime with Mom” and you show up, smile, and wave hello.
